The studio on Alder Lane

Ten years on the same street, still taking fewer appointments than the room could hold.

A room that takes fewer bookings on purpose

Hverdag opened on Alder Lane in 2014 with four chairs and one rule that has not moved since: the diary closes before the room gets busy enough to rush anyone. It costs us bookings most weeks. It is also the reason nobody here cuts with one eye on the clock — and the reason a colour correction can take the whole afternoon, if that is what it honestly needs.

A full diary is the easy part. A room where nobody is rushing is the hard one.

Four stylists, four chairs

Everyone here trains four times a year, and everyone still does their own blow-dries. Nobody gets passed down the line to a junior.
